Luckily, Android users can control who can and cannot contact them at the touch of a button. Whether you're dealing with a crazy ex or pesky telemarketers, there's an option that's right for you.



Steps


Blocking the Number Completely



  1. Click on the icon that says "Phone" on your main screen.

  2. Click on the entry for the number you want to block under "logs."

  3. Press the menu button on your phone.

  4. Select add to "reject list."

Block a Number From the Settings Menu on the Samsung Galaxy S3



  1. Start on your home screen. Go to Phone >> Menu >> Call settings >> Call rejections >> Auto reject list.

  2. Block all Unknown calls. If you want to prevent any Unknown caller from contacting you, simply select the box that says Unknown.

  3. Block specific numbers. To block one phone number or existing contact at a time, select the Create option and then enter the number or contact you wish to block.

    • When you are finished, press Done to save the changes.

  1. Open up the Contacts app. Select the user you want to block.

    • If the number isn't already saved as a contact, do that now. We recommend putting a "Z" or number "0-9" at the beginning of the name so that it will show up at the bottom of your contact list.

  2. Select Menu >> Add to Rejects List. This will automatically direct calls from this number to voicemail.

  • There are lots of different call blocking apps available for Android--some are free, while others charge a small fee. Do your research and be sure to read the user reviews to determine the quality of the service.

  • Your phone will not ring when a blocked number tries to call you; all calls will go directly to voicemail.

  • Directions may differ slightly depending on what kind of Android phone you have, but most phones follow the same general instructions.
