Block a Number From the Settings Menu on the Samsung Galaxy S3
- Start on your home screen. Go to Phone >> Menu >> Call settings >> Call rejections >> Auto reject list.
- Block all Unknown calls. If you want to prevent any Unknown caller from contacting you, simply select the box that says Unknown.
- Block specific numbers. To block one phone number or existing contact at a time, select the Create option and then enter the number or contact you wish to block.
- When you are finished, press Done to save the changes.
Block a Number From the Contacts App on the Samsung Galaxy S3
- Open up the Contacts app. Select the user you want to block.
- If the number isn't already saved as a contact, do that now. We recommend putting a "Z" or number "0-9" at the beginning of the name so that it will show up at the bottom of your contact list.
- Select Menu >> Add to Rejects List. This will automatically direct calls from this number to voicemail.
Tips
- There are lots of different call blocking apps available for Android--some are free, while others charge a small fee. Do your research and be sure to read the user reviews to determine the quality of the service.
- Your phone will not ring when a blocked number tries to call you; all calls will go directly to voicemail.
- Directions may differ slightly depending on what kind of Android phone you have, but most phones follow the same general instructions.
