How to Make a Bottle Cap Locket

Ever wanted a cute locket but could not find any in the store? You can make one yourself. Not only will this add a personal touch to your locket, but you will also save money. This article will show you how to make your own bottle cap locket.



Steps



  1. Wash the bottle caps thoroughly and leave them to dry.

  2. Flatten the bottle caps using pliers or a hammer.

  3. Paint the bottle caps. This will give them a nice look. Choose a colour scheme of your choice.

    • If you want your bottle caps to be glossy, you can use nail polish.

    • If you want them to look casual, you can use paint.

  4. String some pearl beads.

  5. Tuck the loose ends of the strings into the beads.

  6. Cut off any excess string .

  7. Glue the beads to the bottle caps.

  8. Cut a small piece of ribbon and glue each end of the ribbon to the bottom of the bottle caps.

    • You can apply a thin coat of white glue if you want your locket to be long-lasting.

    • Stick pictures on the bottle caps, if you wish.

    • Write down messages or quotes to adorn the bottle caps.

    • String any baubles or other decorative materials.

  10. Close your locket . Make a small stitch with the needle and thread. This will prevent the locket from falling .

  • Spread a newspaper on your working area to avoid staining the floor with paint or glue

  • You can ask a grown-up to help you flatten the bottle caps.
